My Supplies Here Includes the mask and white flower tube.
A tube and font of your choice.
I used the artwork of Barbara Jensen for the examples in this tut. You need to buy a licence to be able to use her artwork. Please visit her website here for more information!
Lets start!
Drop the masks into the folder you store your masks in and open your tube and the supplied flower tube in PSP.
Open a new raster image 500 x 500 with a transparent background.
Floodfill with white.
Open your tube and copy /paste as a
new layer.
Duplicate the tube layer and hide the top
(copy) layer by clicking the eye on the layers palette.
Activate the original tube layer and got to effects >
Reflection Effects > Pattern.
Use the default settings
and hit ok.
Now with the reflection layer still your active one go to
Layers > Load / Save Mask > Load Mask from Disc.
Locate
my mask sweetmask27 in the drop down box and apply with
the following settings;
Delete the mask layer in the layer palette and merge
group.
Image > Resize.
Resize the mask layer by 110% with
Bicubic Resample, all layers unchecked.
With the mask layer still the active one copy and paste
the flower image onto your tag as a new layer.
Take your Freehand selection Tool with these settings;
Click around the flower tube randomly staying close to
the edges in a circular way.
When you join up the selection it will expand and you
will see the marching ants appear.
Go to Selections >
Invert.
Now hit delete a few times on your keyboard until you get
a nice soft misted effect.
Lower the opacity to around 62.
Make the top (Tube) layer visible.
Add the following Drop
Shadow;
Move her down and towards the bottom left hand corner.
We
need to mist the tube the same we we did to the flower.
This time though we only want the bottom edge and left
misting so you need to stay close to the edge of the tube
at the bottom and then go as far away as you can from the
tube around the rest of it.
Selections > Invert.
When you hit invert the marching ants will only surround
the bottom part of the tube which you want misted!
Hit
delete a few times so you get a soft blendid effect
against the flower below, this will also get rid of the
harshness of the drop shadow.
Now we add the text.
Choose your font (I used Lucida
Calligraphy) and set the text tool to the following
settings.
Select a dark complimentary colour from your tube for
your background and set the foreground to null.
Type out
your name.
Objects > Align > Align Center in Canvas.
Convert to raster layer.
Go to Effects > Filters > Muras Meister > Copies.
Apply to the name layer with theses settings ~ *Note the
number value may need to be changed depending on the
length of your name.
Go to Image > Resize.
Resize by 110% with bicubic
resample, all layers unchecked.
Move the text down and
slightly to the left so the words are encircling your
tube.
Move the text layer below the tube.
Still on the text layer go to Selections > Select All.
Selections > Float.
Selections > Defloat.
Right click on the text layer in the layer palette and
Promote selection to layer.
Selections > Select None.
Move the Promoted Selection
layer to the top of the layer palette.
Make sure the
promoted selection layer is the active one and take your
eraser tool.
Erase the text so that the only part
remaining is the part at the bottom right that overlaps
your tube.
