I used the artwork of Barbara Jensen for the examples in this tut. You need to buy a licence to be able to use her artwork. Please visit her website here for more information!
Lets start!
Drop the masks into the folder you store your masks in and open the scrap kit up in PSP.
Open a new raster image 500 x 500 with a transparent background.
Decide which colour you are going to use from my scrap
kit and open up one of the papers.
Change your foreground
to match the colour. I went with the Jade elements.
Add a
new raster layer and floodfill with the colour you just
chose.
Locate my mask sweetmask21 in the dropdown box and apply
with these settings;
Delete the mask layer and merge the group.
Locate my mask sweetmask3o and apply to the merged layer
with these settings;
Delete the mask layer and merge the group.
Now you need to select four of the papers from the scrap
kit.
Copy and paste each one as a seperate layer onto
your tag.
Resize each tile by 85% with bicubic resample,
all layers unchecked.
Arrange them something like this;
Add the following drop shadow to each paper then lower
the opacity of each one to around 70.
Open your tube and paste it onto your canvas as a new
layer.
Lower the opacity to around 46 (You want mainly
the eyes to be showing).
Once you are happy with the look and position of your
eyes merge all layers visible.
Go to Image / Resize.
Resize by 75% with bicubic resample, all layers
unchecked.
Add a new raster layer and send it to the
bottom. Floodfill with white.
Highlight your merged layer and repeat the drop Shadow.
Duplicate the merged layer.
Make the original layer the
active one and go to Effects > Plug-ins > DSB Flux -
Linear Transmission.
Apply with these settings;
Open up the Oriental Extras and select a few of the
symbols.
Copy and paste onto the tag, resize them to suit
and place along either side on top of the slices on the
flux layer.
Close off all the layers apart from the symbols and merge
visible.
