A tube and font of your choice ~ I used the artwork of Nolan Worthington for the examples in this tut. Please visit his website here You must purchase a licence to use Nolan's artwork. Please visit AMI for further information.
Lets start!
Open a new image 500 x 500 and floodfill with white.
Name this layer background.
Open your tube and copy it. Paste it onto your new image as a new layer. Resize by 75% > Bicubic Resample checked > All Layers unchecked.
Go to Effects > Texture Effects > Mosaic Glass
Apply the following settings.
Lower the opacity down to about 60 and resize again by 75%.
Rename this layer Glass.
Open up my sign tube. Its doneover 3 layers so you can play around with it if you wish. If you want the sign as it is then go to Edit > Copy Merged. (Make sure the details layer is hidden when you do this) Paste the tube onto your canvas as a new layer.
Go to Image > Resize > Resize by 80% - Bicubic Resample checked - All Layers unchecked.
Position this layer over the Glass layer and rename it Sign.
Go back to your original tube and copy it again.
Paste onto your canvas as a new layer. You can close your tube now, we are finished with it!
Resize her down so that she stands just short of the sign (around 50% should do it).
Apply a drop shadow with these settings.
Repeat the drop shadow changing the vertical and horizontal settings to
-4.
Now we will add the quote to the sign.
Close off your tube layer for now. Select your font (I used Fancy). make your foreground Null and your background # 6F0000. Type your quotation onto the sign in seperate lines using these settings;
You may have to pull the nodes around to make the text fit neatly onto the sign. After each line is in postion convert to raster layer.
Once you have the lines all typed in hide your background, glass and sign layers and merge visible your text. Rename the merged layer Quote.
Make all layers visible.
Position your tube layer so that you can read most of the quote.
