I have used the awesome artwork of Suzanne Woolcott for this
tutorial. Please do not use the same artwork unless you have a licence to do so. You can obtain a licence from AMI here.
Lets start!
Unzip the supplies zip and open up the scrap kit,
Open a new canvas 500 x 500 and floodfill with white.
Open up the tube you are going to use and a new canvas 500 x 500. Floodfill with white.
Open up the prettyhearts from my kit. Select the one you are going to use and copy and paste it onto you canvas as a new raster layer. Position it off center to the right.
Rename Big Heart
Open up the prettyheartbacks from my kit. Select the one you are going to use and copy and paste it onto you canvas as a new raster layer. Position it to the left of your tag and rename this layer heart back.
Now copy and paste your tube onto your tag as a new layer. Now is a good time to colourise the elements if you need to. A good way to get a match for your tube is to use the eyedroppper to pick the colour out. Make a note of the hue and saturation numbers when you have chosen it.
Now go to Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Colourise.
Enter the values into the equivalent boxes.
The settings will remain as they are so each time you add a new element to the tag simply repeat the colourise to get a perfect match.
Make sure the tube is the active layer and duplicate her once.
Now go to Image > Resize. Resize by 95% with bicubic resample, all layers unchecked.
Position the duplicated tube something like this.
She wants to be slightly offset. Concentrate on the top and sides as we are going to get rid of the bottom part in a minute anyway.
Apply the following drop shadow to the duplicated tube layer.
Repeat the drop Shadow once.
On the original bottom tube layer apply the drop shadow changing the shadow colour to black.
Lower the opacity of the bottom tube layer to around 78.
Close off all of your layers except the tube layers and merge visible. Rename this layer tube.
Make all the other layers visible again.
Grab your freehand selection tool and set to the following;
Now we need to remove the bottom part of the tube to get rid of any jaggedy edges. This is easy, select around the bottom part you want to remove. Bear in mind there is a fairly hefty feather on the selection tool so don't take too much!
Hit delete a couple of times to remove the excess bit.
Now we need to add in our other elements. Select the flowers you would like to use and add them as new layers, make sure they are above the main tube in the layers palette.
Each time you add one remember to colourise using the steps from earlier.
I chose to put some flowers around the bottom where we feathered the tube but its up to you what you decide to do.
Once you have your flowers and hearts in place copy and paste my grey heart squiggle onto your canvas. You will need to rotate it to where you want it to be. I wanted mine to show on the heart behind the little girl.
Go to Image > Rotate > Free Rotate. Rotate by 90 degrees to the right with rotate single layer around canvas checked.
Position your heart doodle.
Move this layer down in the layers palette to beneath the tubes.
Finally lower the opacity of the heart back layer to around 74.
