Open a new image 500 x 500 with a transparent background.

Open your tube.

Edit > Copy > Paste as new layer on your blank canvas.

Resize by about 60%.

Duplicate the tube layer, Image > Mirror.

With your mover tool position the tube like this

Duplicate this merged layer and make the bottom layer active.

Effects > Texture Effects > Weave

Apply these settings;

Use contrasting colours from your tube for the weave and gap fill options.

Make the copy layer active and resize by 75%, all layers unchecked, bicubic resample checked.

Merge visible.

Duplicate new merged layer > Image > Flip.

Position the two layers so they look something like this then merge visible.

Add drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical 1, Horizontal 1, Opacity 50, Blur 5.00, Colour black.

Add a new raster layer and send to bottom.

Choose two colours from the image for your fore and back ground, and make the fore ground a gradient with the following settings;

Flood fill your new raster layer with the gradient.

Go to Effects > Texture Effects > Weave and apply the same settings as used previously.

Reduce this layers opacity to 70 and merge visible.

Go to Layers > Load / Save mask > Load mask from disc. Select mask #099 it should be default in psp but if not I included it above.

Apply your mask with the following settings;

On your layer palette right click on the mask layer and delete. When the box pops up click yes. Merge group and reduce the opacity of the merged group layer to 78. Rename this layer Weave.

Open your Fairy tube. Paste it onto your working canvas as a new layer and position her roughly in the centre of your canvas. Duplicate once and go to image > flip. Position the flipped layer with your mover tool so that she matches up. X out your weave layer and merge visible. Add a drop shadow to your fairy with the same settings as before, then make your weave layer visible again and position her on your canvas where ever you think she looks best.

Select your text tool and two complimentary colours from your tube, add your name to your tag with the following settings;

Line up your text with the centre of your merged fairy. use the nodes to fit it to the space in the centre of your image. Once you are happy with the position convert the layer to a raster layer. Duplicate text layer go to Image > Flip. Position flipped layer underneath original text layer. X out all layers except the two text ones. Merge Visible and add the following inner bevel followed by a drop shadow with the same settings as before;

Make all layers visible again.

Now is the time to add your © information and watermark if you use one

Once you have everything you need added and are happy with the positioning on the canvas merge all layers and resize if you want to.

Duplicate your image twice and X out top two layers.

Make sure your bottom layer is active and using your selection tool select bottom half of image like this

Effects > Almathera > Puddle

Apply the following settings;

Do not deselect!

X out bottom layer and make middle layer visible and active. Apply Puddle again but this time change the displacement value to 35

Keep selected ... almost there!

X out middle layer and make top layer visible and active. Apply puddle effect once more this time changing the displacement value to 50.

Selections > Select None.

Make all your layers visible.

Add a new raster layer and send to bottom. Flood fill with white and duplicate twice. Move the two copies of the white layer so that each one is positioned beneath the merged layers.

X out all layers apart from bottom two, merge visible. X out this merged layer and make next two layers visible, merge again. X out and make last two layers visible, merge again. This gives you a white background to your layers. Make all layers visible and save as a psp image.

Now to make your water ripple!

Open the psp file up in animation shop you should have three frames.

Select frame two. Edit > Copy

Select frame three. Edit > Paste after current frame.

You now have four frames.

Edit > Select all

Animation > Frame properties > set at 20 (you can set the speed to whatever you prefer check the film strip box to look at the speed and alter it to your own preference)

Go to File > Export Frames > to paint shop pro

Make your bottom layer active and select your selections tool with the following settings;

Draw a circle around your image.

Selections > Invert

Make sure you are still on your bottom layer and hit delete once. Do not deselect!

Make the next layer active. Hit delete once. Continue with this step on all four layers.

Close the image in psp. A box will pop up asking you if you want to save the changes to the image, click no. Another box will then pop up asking you if you want to update the image back in animation shop. Click yes.

You now have your four frames back in Animation shop. Check you are happy with the speed and then save as a gif.
