For this tutorial you will need the following supplies;

Paint Shop Pro (This tut done in version 8 but easily adapted for other versions.) trial version available here

The mask and picture frame I use in this tutorial are both default with PSP 8, I have included them in the supplies zip here in case they are not in other versions.

You will need to unzip the file and place the two elements in the relevant psp folders to use them

A tube and font of your choice

Open a new image 500 x 500 with a transparent background. Floodfill with white.

Add a new raster layer.

Select two contrasting colours from your tube and set your foreground to gradient.





Floodfill your new layer with the gradient.

Go to layers > Load/Save Mask > Load mask from disk.

Locate mask 065 in the drop down box and apply with these settings;



Right click on the mask layer and hit delete, say yes to merging into the layer.

Merge group.

Make sure you have the merged layer highlighted an got to Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds.

Apply once with these settings;



Reapply blinds but this time uncheck the horizontal box.



Now we will make our frames.

Go to your preset shapes tool and set like this;



Change your foreground to the darker colour in your gradient and set your background to null.



Draw out a rectangle on your working canvas.

When you are happy with the size convert it to a raster layer.



Click once inside your frame with your magic wand - tolerance and feather set to 0.

Selections > Modify > Expand.

Expand by 2 pixels.





Add a new raster layer.

Go to your tube and with your selection tool set to rectangle select an area of the tube.





Edit > Copy.

Back over on your working canvas make sure the new raster layer is highlighted and go to Edit > Paste into selection.

Deselect and move the layer below the frame layer in the layers palette.

Highlight the frame layer. Right click and select Merge > Merge Down.

Repeat the above steps to make more frames. Use different areas of the tube within each frame and different sized frames.

Make as many frames as you like!

When you are happy with the positioning of the frames add the following drop shadow to each one;



Copy and paste your tube onto your canvas as a new layer.

Resize to suit and position to where you like it.

Add the same drop shadow.



Merge all visible.

Go to Image > Picture frame. Locate Edge Circles 01 from the drop down menu and apply to your image with the following settings;



Add your © info and watermark if you use one.

Choose a gothic looking font. I used Calligula. Set your text to these settings;



Using the same two colours as you have done throughout apply your name.

Use the vector nodes to position your text and when you are happy convert to raster layer.

Apply the following Inner Bevel;



Repeat the Drop Shadow.

Merge all layers visible.

Layers > Resize.

Resize by 85% with Bicubic resample all layers unchecked.

Add a new raster layer and send to bottom.

Floodfill the new layer with white.

Highlight the merged layer and apply the drop shadow once again.

Resize if needed and save as a jpeg!
